As you’ve probably guessed by now, we are HUGE fans of coffee and coffee shops!
Actually, at this very moment, we’re writing this from one of our latest “obsessions.” It’s called Caffè Umbria and we’re glad to say it checks all of our boxes.
(and just in case you were wondering... No, we're not getting paid to write this)
These are the things we look for in any coffee shop...
Delicious, high-quality coffee
Authenticity - this place is a little piece of Italy
Pleasant outdoor seating area
Great place to work:
Good WiFi
Plenty of comfortable seating options
More than enough outlets to plug in your laptop
Airy, clean and beautiful décor with lots of bright natural light
Great location, including plenty of nearby parking options
Last but not least: A wonderful team
Every single staff member we’ve interacted with is highly trained, warm, relaxed and courteous
There is a commitment to excellence that shines through in every aspect of their business. They often check in with customers without pestering and they’re always open to feedback and suggestions
In addition, there are quite a few extras that make this place special and a personal favorite
Gorgeous, one-of-a-kind artisanal ceramic cups & mugs
They even give you a delicious vegan cioccolatino with your coffee drink
Games! They have games like checkers and chess - and people use them!
Puppies!!! Did we mention we also love dogs? Any given time of day, you’re guaranteed to get the chance to enjoy the company of a furry friend.
*Most importantly!!* and the reason we’re discussing it here - can you guess what it is??
It’s the opportunity to practice languages!
In the same visit I can chat with the staff in Italian, Spanish and English (of course), as well as French and Portuguese with fellow customers.
What about you? Are you too a self-proclaimed coffee shop tourist?

Caffè Umbria looks wonderful. I need to find a way to get there.
One of my favorite coffee places is a French café and Pastry shop called Fleur de Cocoa in Los Gatos, Ca. I can both get great coffee there, and work on my French with the staff. This morning when I went in at 8:15 AM there was already a line of people waiting to order with more people sitting outside. The owner recognized me, came up to me and asked if I wanted anything, and sensing a more casual moment, I said: “deux croissants aux amandes, et…” inviting her to finish my order, to which she replied “un petit café mocha.”
I love a place that…
Bonjour!! I love coffee shops but I am not really a coffee lover! I love going to new coffee shops that makes you want to stay and work. I loved Caffè Umbria! Definitely a coffee shop I would go back to :)
J'adore les tasses! Elles sont tellement jolies.
I'm definitely putting this café on my places to visit list! I am also a frequent coffee shop tourist and my favorite coffee shops are the ones with lots of books. 😁
